The storyline keeps it current featuring a social media-savvy kid reporter Levi Lovewell, and a group of endangered animals from around the globe who work to survive a superstorm coming their way. Lessons are learned, and working together is necessary. The endangered animals in the musical play include Crankee the rockin' crocodile, Sita - the noble cheetah, Snoop the funky spotted skunk, Einstein the big bird brain, Bam Boo the superstar panda, and GLow the golden tamarin. I loved their creative costumes, it left room for the imagination, it was fun to talk about which animals were portrayed with my children as we walked out the theater. We can't forget the 8th cast member, reporter Jani Goodall, who was the glue between scenes.
There's dancing, singing, and great usage of the small space in the theater. They did a great job in moving on from one scene to the next making sure to keep everyone's attention - even the youngest of the audience members. My children are all very different from one another, I never know how they will react to a show - but I was happy to see all three of them enjoyed it. My kids are 2, 4, and 9. I think this is best for families with young children, but I did see quite a few groups of adults thoroughly enjoying the performance. Lots of clapping, laughter, and a standing ovation in the end. When your children walk out pretending the be the characters, asking questions, and leave inspired by the performance - you know it's a good one!
