Chocolate with Pistachios
Did you know that the pistachio tree is one the oldest flowering nut trees on Earth?  People have eaten and enjoyed pistachios for nearly 9,000 years, and the NESTLΓ‰® Damak brand has been around since 1933.  It was finally time I tried the delicious pistachio chocolate bars.  It is the perfect combination of crunchy pistachios and rich chocolate.  It is available in a creamy, fine chocolate bar and a rich, dark chocolate bar.  The name Damak (pronounced "dih-mok) means "great taste" in Turkish.

The Damak bars are made with quality chocolate, and full of Turkish pistachios.  I have been indulging in the delicious bars, and loving that it does not contain artificial flavors or colors.  The pistachios used in the Damak bars are sourced from Gaziantep region of Turkey, a location that is considered by many to be the best place in the world to find the highest quality pistachios, full of flavor and ripe with that striking green color.  The pistachios nut actually has natural green and purple hues, and it definitely adds fun when you break the bars apart while enjoying it.

Nestle Damak has committed over $1 million to fund training in the most efficient agricultural techniques to not only improve and increase harvests, but also to improve the welfare of the renowned Gaziantep growing region of Turkey."

It has easily become a favorite of mine.  It is the perfect mix of creamy rich chocolate and crunchy pistachios.  I was sent over instructions on how to properly enjoy the Damak chocolate for the full experience, and so I will share that with you as well.
"The Damak Chocolate Tasting Experience
  1. APPEARANCE: Notice the shape and finish, the depth of color and visual consistency.
  2. AROMA: Rub a small piece of chocolate between thumb and forefinger while cupping with the other hand. Take in the smell deeply. All chocolates are different, but you’ll notice either an intense or mild chocolate aroma; a sudden or gradual hit; and notes of floral, fruit, caramel or—in this case— pistachio!
  3. TEXTURE: Look for a smooth, creamy, satin feel.
  4. TASTE: Take a small piece and let it rest and fully dissolve on the tongue. Much like a fine wine, you can discern a great deal about chocolate from letting it linger. Is there a natural woody, earthy flavor? A fruity, nutty taste? A heavy or lightly roasted pitch? Most importantly...Do you love it?!
