It isn't easy to find a gift for children these days and I always say it's mostly because there's too many things to choose from.  If you're anything like me and you like to buy useful items as much as cool and in style.  The BOSEbuild Speaker Cube is the right fit for that!  Get your child a bluetooth speaker they can listen to their favorite shows on, and hear their music in BOSE quality sound.  Sound good?  It gets better, children can learn the basics of how speakers work, and get a hand in completing the speaker before using it along with fun customizable features.  If only all our devices came with a lesson of sorts to teach us how it's working!

The DIY instructions and lessons are all directed through the free BOSEbuild mobile app.  To get started you simply plug in the control panel, download the app, sync, and follow the easy steps.
Every step that children click next to has an explanation to what's happening, and encouragement giving them the confidence needed when taking on something new.  Right away it will have children experiment with a coil and magnet, going over the basics of magnets.  Then explaining how electricity sent to the coil allows for it to act like a magnet since it's an electromagnet.  The coil and magnet pushed against each other, launches the coil up into the air and kids will get a kick out of it!

Video explanations within the app explaining how the speaker, and speakers in general work are super helpful and keep children entertained.

The steps lead children to explore the magnets, and electromagnets by creating a paper speaker before ultimately assembling the BOSE speakers.  New vocabulary words not often used such as frequency and waveforms will be introduced and explained as they explore hands on.
Children are prompted and encouraged to continue to experiment with the magnet and coil, using it in more speakers made with different materials like cardboard and tinfoil.

After short lessons, experimenting and a paper craft making a speaker - it's time to build the BOSE speaker.

The side panels and clips secure the speaker in place, sealing in the air for the best sound quality.  The clips are easy for children to clip on their own, and stays on once snapped in place.

You can customize the color and shades you want the Speaker Cube to display as it changes and dances to the different frequencies of the music.

Pick from the many silhouettes to customize your cube.  My kids have changed it multiple times to get a new design going each time they use their Speaker Cube.

My 8-year old loved the lessons, and the steps in setting up his BOSEbuild Speaker Cube.  He loved saying he completed the speaker my children now have been using it daily for listening to music.  We have other speakers, even wireless ones but this is the one they choose to use.  Only con I would nit pick would be that it is wired, even though my children don't mind, I would have loved for it to have been wireless.

Do you have someone on your list that fits in the ages 8 and up that you are struggling on getting them  something awesome that they will use for a very long time?  The BOSEbuild Speaker Cube is a high tech bluetooth speaker that children get a hand in building and learn while doing so.  Instead of getting your child a bluetooth speaker for their room get one they can learn a little something, customize and have fun with.

In the end of the fun exploration, children end up with a high-performance Bluetooth speaker, that lights up in different colors and is customized according to their choses. Children can also take it apart and do it all over again, as my son did to show his younger sister how it all works as well as having fun with the sound and color controls the app gives.
BOSEbuild Speaker Cube review
The BOSEbuild Speaker Cube is definitely well made with children in mind as they said, it was easy to use for my son - he didn't have one moment of frustration.  The lessons were the perfect balance of informative and fun.  The parts are were easy to construct, as was the steps given.  The cable and connectors are big, bright, and easy to handle.  It took just about an hour to go through all the steps to go through all the steps, and build the speaker.  This is a speaker I wouldn't buy primarily as a teaching tool, but for exactly what it is - a high performance speaker that offers fun learning opportunities as well.
