The DIY instructions and lessons are all directed through the free BOSEbuild mobile app. To get started you simply plug in the control panel, download the app, sync, and follow the easy steps.
Every step that children click next to has an explanation to what's happening, and encouragement giving them the confidence needed when taking on something new. Right away it will have children experiment with a coil and magnet, going over the basics of magnets. Then explaining how electricity sent to the coil allows for it to act like a magnet since it's an electromagnet. The coil and magnet pushed against each other, launches the coil up into the air and kids will get a kick out of it! Video explanations within the app explaining how the speaker, and speakers in general work are super helpful and keep children entertained.
The steps lead children to explore the magnets, and electromagnets by creating a paper speaker before ultimately assembling the BOSE speakers. New vocabulary words not often used such as frequency and waveforms will be introduced and explained as they explore hands on.
After short lessons, experimenting and a paper craft making a speaker - it's time to build the BOSE speaker.
The side panels and clips secure the speaker in place, sealing in the air for the best sound quality. The clips are easy for children to clip on their own, and stays on once snapped in place.Fun features like tweaking the tune of the sound playing will have your kids excited for the controls.
You can customize the color and shades you want the Speaker Cube to display as it changes and dances to the different frequencies of the music.
Pick from the many silhouettes to customize your cube. My kids have changed it multiple times to get a new design going each time they use their Speaker Cube.
My 8-year old loved the lessons, and the steps in setting up his BOSEbuild Speaker Cube. He loved saying he completed the speaker my children now have been using it daily for listening to music. We have other speakers, even wireless ones but this is the one they choose to use. Only con I would nit pick would be that it is wired, even though my children don't mind, I would have loved for it to have been wireless.$149
