Curious George & Other Great Exhibits at the Liberty Science Center (+ #Giveaway!)

*As a Liberty Science Center Blog Ambassador for the day, I was provided vouchers for my visit. All opinions are my own.
We recently got the opportunity to visit the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey for our very first time, and had the most incredible Saturday!  My children are 8, 3 and 1 and there was something for everyone to enjoy, including us adults.  It is the place to take your children for a fun and educational day.  We have been all over to science centers, and children's museums, in the past, but the Liberty Science Center was a combination of them all as it had so much to offer everyone.
If you are visiting the New Jersey and New York City area or already a local I have your chance to win 4 tickets to the Libery Science Center.  The tickets are combination tickets which means it isn't just for admission but for the special exhibitions as well.

We were able to enjoy our visit on September 17, the first day of the Curious George: Let's Get Curious Exhibit and got to experience it first hand and had so much fun stepping into the pages of our favorite Curious George books for the afternoon. We also enjoyed the rest of the science center for a full day of fun and excitement centered around science & technology.
The Curious George exhibit, much like the books and PBS Kids television series presents key concepts in science, math, and engineering, which are woven throughout the exhibit for children to enjoy.

Highlights from the exhibit:

  • Operate wheels and pulleys to move Curious George in the Apartment Building. Then climb up the fire escape and go inside to experiment with color, light, and shadow.
  • Play three holes of Mini Golf and putt your way through physics and engineering lessons using pipes, ramps, and funnels.
  • Jump aboard the Space Rocket that Curious George took on his Outer Space Adventure and pose for a photo. Then slide down to the control center where you can email your picture back home.
  • Stop at the Sidewalk Produce Stand to explore shape, sorting, weighing, and counting with fruits and vegetables as you role play as the customer or salesperson.

  • Take a vacation to the country and visit the Farm to care for the animals and explore cause and effect using wind power, windsocks, and whirligigs!
  • Hug a full-size Curious George in the City Park. Babies and toddlers will especially enjoy the Park’s busywall activities.

  • Check out the Construction Site and climb into the trailer to design your building. Then choose from a variety of materials and actually build it!
  • Visit the Museum Within the Museum to learn more about Curious George and the original manuscript’s daring escape from Europe during WWII.
