Wordless Wednesday - Imaginative Play #toddler

I found my little girl feeding what she called her "baby" and having a full picnic.  She spent at least half an hour carrying it around, putting it to sleep, and playing with it as if it was a doll.  And yes she has many other stuffed animals she does this with, but this one took me by surprise.  This is Bewilderbeast from How to Train a Dragon 2 that I featured a long time ago, not your typical adorable creature. ;)

Evenflo Feeding - New Tilty TripleFlo Trainer Cups #Review & #Giveaway

*I received the item/s for the purpose of review.  All opinions are a 100% my own.  No other compensation was provided. Sponsor is responsible for prize fulfillment.  US only.
Evenflo Feeding's New Tilty TripleFlo Cups offers an easy way for children to transition into drinking from a cup.  Going from nursing, drinking from a baby bottle to cup isn't always easy, specially difficult for our little ones to figure out how to hold the cup up high and tilt their heads.  This Titly cups features an internal angled wall that eliminates the need for a child to tilt their head back while drinking.  Worried about the flow?  Evenflo has thought of that, with a TripleFlo feature that's adjustable from slow, medium, to fast flow rates.
As parents we want to make any change or transition smooth, these cups help our little ones as they grow more and more independent.  Both my older 2 figured out how to drink from a cup as many do, but these are a cute and fun way for them to transition smoothly.  Of course BPA-free, easy to clean since it doesn't have many parts, secure snap on lid, dishwasher safe, and it is available in boy & girl designed cups available in 2 packs.  I'm glad my toddler who already knows how to drink from a cup still loves the cups, and I'm also excited for my youngest to give these a try so he will be able to transition with ease.
The cups are available for purchase at Walgreens, and HEB stores.  Online at Amazon, Walmart and Target as well.  Want to win a 2 pack Tilty cup set? Enter below!

The Alphabet of Bugs - An ABC Book #BookReview

*I received the item/s for the purpose of review.  All opinions are a 100% my own.

I have a toddler just starting to take interest in learning the alphabet, and my first grader really starting to take on reading now so I was excited to check out The Alphabet of Bugs - An ABC Book written by Valerie Gates and beautiful photo illustrations by Ann Cutting.
The book was full of big colorful, interesting photos of bugs that my children were drawn to right away.  My first grader had difficulty reading all the names of the bugs and understanding them, however he did enjoy learning about the bugs in each page while we sat to read it together.  Great for learning more about some amazing little creatures.  The photographs are wonderful and eye-catching.  The bugs in the book aren't everyday bugs you would expect to see in a book geared for ages 3-5 years old, it took me by surprise but it was also refreshing to see.  Great for anyone just for the photos alone.
Description:
"Do you know what a Chrysina resplendens or a Papilionidae butterfly looks like? Travel through the alphabet with The Alphabet of Bugs to learn about the many beautiful and unusually named bugs found in nature—and brush up on those ABCs as well! Valerie Gates’s charming alliterative style paired with Ann Cutting’s stunning photographs of all types of bugs is sure to delight curious children and adults alike.

Children who already know their basic bugs will broaden their horizons, and parents who are tired of simple butterflies and beetles will find this book worth rereading. Spectacular photographs of insects of all kinds will inspire children to learn more about the different creatures found in the natural world. And while children learn about bugs, they are also learning the alphabet through silly sentences. This is an ideal gift for new parents and for young nature-loving children!" -

Nine-year-old Maggie can’t wait to go camping with her grandparents and her friends from the Shopkins Kids Club. The five girls sit around the campfire, making s’mores, singing songs, and trading Shopkins. Everything is perfect, except for Maggie’s annoying little brother, Max, who’s being a huge pain. But when Maggie’s prized Marsha Mellow goes missing, the campout heads downhill fast. Maggie suspects that one of her friends might be the culprit: envious Ava has been eying up her Marsha Mellow all night! Can Maggie find Marsha Mellow—and find a way to salvage her friendships and her campout?

As Maggie follows the clues to find the missing Marsha Mellow, she learns lessons about taking care of your things, not judging others too quickly, apologizing when you need to, and, most of all, inclusion: inviting others to join in instead of keeping them out. More members in the Shopkins Kids Club just means more fun! Join Maggie and the Shopkins Kids Club in this brand-new story for Shopkins collectors!" (

I will be passing this novel along to my nieces who are huge fans of Shopkins and are the perfect age.  I read this along with my son, who was reluctant and not as interested as he was with the Minecraft novels we recently reviewed (check out the giveaway btw) but surprised at how he liked it.  I liked the cute story had lessons to be learned like "taking care of your things, not judging others too quickly, apologizing when you need to, and most of all inclusion: inviting others to join in instead of keeping them out."

Tiggly Does it Again - Introducing Tiggly WORDS! #Review

I received an item/s for the purpose of review.  All opinions are a 100% my own.  No other compensation was provided.
Most kids these days pick up a tablet and play with apps and tablets as soon as they are old enough to, and as parents we want to make sure they're getting something out of it.  Which is one of the reasons why I love Tiggly, they are fun educational toys and apps for kids.  Tiggly learning systems allows children to learn and play on tablets like no other app I know of.  Allowing children to hold onto shapes, number squares, and letters as they play and learn.  The apps that go with Tiggly Shapes, Tiggly Counts, and Tiggly Words are available to download in the App Store and Google play.

Tiggly Words introduces children to vowels.  Geared for ages 4 - 8 years old, but great for younger kids too.  The ability to hold onto the interactive soft colorful letters makes for so much fun while playing with them on the apps.  After having tried Shapes and Counts both my kids loved Tiggly Words right away!  It's truly a great combination of technology children are drawn to and hands on learning.
Like all the other learning systems, these letters come with a pouch for the toy pieces.  Submarine Spelling, Tiggly Tales Word Building, and Tiggly Doctor Vowels are the super fun apps available for download on Google Play and the App Store.  With the purchase of the learning system for $29.95 the apps are free.
While playing with the award winning apps children will be able to learn long & short vowels, phonics, nouns & verbs, and word building skills, just to name a few of the benefits.  My 6 year old is able to have fun exploring with the super fun apps going over and learning more as he plays.  The very well easy to use apps are even easy for my 2 year old to use.  Tiggly Learning Systems are a true must have for children of this generation.  My children want to play with it, and I approve.  I love the pouches they come in, which makes for a great on the go toy.  I can hand my children the tablet without feeling like I'm "plugging them in" since it's educational and engages multiple senses.  Learning should be fun, and Tiggly delivers.

Tiggly COUNTS - Fun & Educational Math Learning System for Your Tablet

I received an item for the purpose of review.  All opinions are a 100% my own.  No other compensation was provided.
Looking for a fun way to help teach your kids math basics?  Tiggly Counts is the perfect addition to all that you are using to teach your child!  As a homeschool mom, I have to say this has been so great to add to our resources at home.  These five soft colorful pieces help your child visualize and count while learning addition.  It does so much more than any other educational app because they are able to hold and point as they re-arrange to make different addition problems.  This is a unique learning tool, joining both their interest on playing on the tablet and giving them the tangible toys to hold onto while doing so.

Learning the basics of math isn't always easy for our little ones, which is why any resources to help them is wonderful.  My first grader has found it useful and fun to practice his math while playing.  The apps are available to play without the toys, but I highly recommend the toys to get the full reward.  The five soft toys come in 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 variations (pictured above) which I've even used without the app to help my child learn math basics.  A carrying pouch is also included to store and grab on the go for educational fun anywhere.
Tiggly Counts apps are available in 10 different languages which is great if you want to teach your children another language.  They are available for download on Google Play and the App Store.  My children love the apps, they seem to really favor Tiggly Chef as they get to add recipe ingredients to make wacky named creations.  If you let your child play with apps, this is the perfect way to mix playing and learning.  I absolutely love that they are able to use multi-sensory as they play on apps and learn.  With your purchase of Tiggly Counts for $29.95, all three apps come free.  Tiggly Learning Systems are an absolute must have, be sure to check out our other reviews on Tiggly Shapes and the latest addition Tiggly Words

Tiggly SHAPES Educational Learning System for Your Tablet!

We have had Tiggly Shapes for a while now, and both my older kids love it, even my 6 year old.  It has actually helped my daughter (2 year old) learn her shapes without her feeling like she's learning, she just enjoys playing with them on the apps.  Colorful soft shapes that go with award winning apps make it the perfect must have for children learning their shapes.  Tiggly learning systems make it possible for little ones to learn hand eye coordination, motor skills, and early literacy skills just to name a few - all of which aren't available in your typical app.  Children will engage their senses and learn about animals, colors, and so much more as they play.  It comes in a perfect pouch to carry them in when on the go, or simply to store them in.  I love tossing it in my bag for them to play with in the car or waiting rooms at various appointments.

Tiggly Shapes is available for purchase for $29.95 and it comes with 3 apps.   The 3 fun apps available for download to go with Tiggly Shapes are Tiggly Safari for shape recognition, Tiggly Stamp for storytelling, and Draw Creatively.  The apps are available for download on Google Play and the App store.  These aren't your typical apps where you only point out the shapes, and sort, children get to play with the fun animation as they learn.  It is also very simple to use, your children will figure it out on their own right away.  I absolutely love Tiggly Shapes not just because it is educational but because it is fun and approved by my kids.  Tiggly continues to create and amaze with new additions; learn more about the other Tiggly must have learning systems by clicking on the links to our other reviews: Tiggly Numbers and Tiggly Words.

Novels for the Minecraft Fan in Your Life! #Review & #Giveaway

*I received review copies, all opinions are a 100% my own.  No other compensation was provided.
My son will be finishing up first grade this year and what a successful year it has been.  One of his many achievements this year has been learning to read.  It is incredible how much he has learned, and It isn't always easy being a homeschool mom, having to balance the fun and learning.  I am always looking for materials to encourage and motivate him.  Recently I got review copies of two great Minecraft adventure novels, and these have been novels for my little Minecraft fan.

Two great unofficial Minecrafter's Adventure novels are recommended for age 7+.  Escape from the Overworld by Danica Davidson and The Quest for the Diamond Sword by Winter Morgan is exactly what I needed to remind my son that reading is fun.
The Quest for the Diamond Sword by Winter Morgan was the first novel we read together and my son absolutely loved it.  One of his first chapter books and he didn't want to stop reading.

"Steve lives on a wheat farm. He has everything he needs to live in the Minecraft world: a bed, a house, and food. Steve likes to spend his mornings in the NCP village and trade his wheat for emeralds, armor, books, swords, and food. One morning, he finds that Zombies have attacked the villagers. The Zombies have also turned the village blacksmith into a Zombie, leaving Steve without a place to get swords. To protect himself and the few villagers that remain, Steve goes on a quest to mine for forty diamonds, which are the most powerful mineral in the Overworld. He wants to craft these diamonds into a diamond sword to shield him and the villagers from the Zombies.
Far from his home, with night about to set in, Steve fears for his life. Nighttime is when users are most vulnerable in Minecraft. As he looks for shelter in a temple, he meets a trio of treasure hunters, Max, Lucy, and Henry, who are trying to unearth the treasure under the temple. Steve tells them of his master plan to mine for the most powerful mineral in the Overworld—the diamond. The treasure hunters are eager to join him. Facing treacherous mining conditions, a thunderstorm, and attacks from hostile mobs, these four friends question if it's better to be a single player than a multiplayer, as they try to watch out for each other and chase Steve’s dream at the same time.
Will Steve find the diamonds? Will his friends help or hinder the search? Should he trust his new treasure hunter friends? And will Steve get back in time to save the villagers?"
Escape from the Overworld by Danica Davidson.  My son loved how this wasn't just a Minecraft story, it combined both the real world with the world of Minecraft.  Well written full of adventure and easy to follow along for a six year old.  A storyline I think even non Minecraft fans would enjoy.

"Eleven-year-old Stevie, who comes from a long line of Steves, doesn’t feel as if he fits in the Minecraft world. His father is great at building and fighting off zombies, but Stevie struggles in these areas. One day, when Stevie is alone in the field trying to build something new that will impress his dad, he discovers a portal into a new world.

Stevie steps out of a computer screen and into the room of eleven-year-old Maison, a sixth-grade girl who loves to build and create, but who is bullied and made an outcast by her classmates for not indulging in activities deemed cool.” Stevie is shocked by how different this world is, and Maison takes him under her wing and teaches him all about her world. The two become friends, and Maison brings Stevie to school with her.

Stevie is horrified to see there are zombies in the school! He realizes that when he opened the portal, this allowed zombies to also enter the new world. More and more creatures are slipping out by the second, wreaking havoc on a world that has no idea how to handle zombies, creepers, giant spiders, and the like. Stevie and Maison must put their heads together and use their combined talents in order to push the zombies back into Minecraft, where they belong. As Stevie and Maison’s worlds become more combined, their adventure becomes even more frightening than they could have imagined."

Usually my son wants to watch Minecraft videos and play on screen but this time he didn't want to put down the novels, with a bit of my assistance we were done with the novels in no time.  There are no picture illustrations in the novels, and he truly enjoyed it.  I am looking forward to reading more of these novels with my son.

Baby Smile Battery Operated Nasal Aspirator

*I received the item/s for the purpose of review.  All opinions are a 100% my own.  No other compensation was provided.
There are so many worries you have with a newborn baby.  One of the issues I have had with all my three babies are stuffy noses, and trying to get it all clear.  I have struggled to use the typical bulb which wasn't always the best with results and the worst was trying to clean it thoroughly.  I'm happy to have found the Baby Smile Battery Operated Nasal Aspirator which clears baby's nostrils and it doesn't seem to bother baby as much as other aspirators I've used.  Also a great plus is it is easy to clean.  You simply move it around after turning it on until you get baby's nostrils all clear.  Like with any nasal aspirators works best with saline drops, or after a warm bath.
Specifics:
  • Soft Nozzle - the silicone material prevents babies' nostrils from getting hurt.
  • Comes with a cover - lets you place in your bag when you go out.
  • Washable - You can wash it and it's easy to clean.
  • Easy operation - on/off switch with just one button. 2x AA batteries needed.
  • Recommended for ages 0+
